Homework is an important part of the learning process at the American International School of Ethiopia (AISE). Homework reinforces classroom instruction, develops independent study habits, and helps students build responsibility and time-management skills.
Purpose of Homework #
Homework is designed to:

Homework assignments may include LMS worksheets, reading activities, projects, or practice exercises.
Homework Expectations by Grade Level #
Elementary School (Grades 1–5)
Homework focuses on reinforcing foundational skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Homework helps students develop stronger study habits and deeper understanding of academic concepts.
High School (Grades 9–12)
Homework may include research, projects, reading assignments, and preparation for assessments.
Student Responsibilities #
Students are expected to:
- Record homework assignments
- Complete assignments carefully and on time
- Ask teachers for clarification if needed
- Manage their time effectively
Parent Support #
Parents can support their children by:
- Encouraging consistent study routines

- Monitoring homework completion
- Encouraging responsibility without completing the work for the student
Late or Incomplete Homework #
Failure to complete homework may affect a student’s:
- Participation grade
- Coursework evaluation

Students who are absent are responsible for making up missed homework assignments.
