Purpose #
The American International School of Ethiopia values long-term partnerships with its families and encourages students to continue their education at AISE through graduation.
This policy establishes the procedures for continuous enrollment and annual re-registration, ensuring that current students have priority placement for the following academic year.
Continuous Enrollment #
AISE follows a Continuous Enrollment model. Once a student is admitted and enrolled at the school, the student is expected to remain enrolled each academic year until graduation unless:
- Parents formally notify the school that the student will not return, or
- The school determines that continued enrollment is not appropriate.
Continuous enrollment helps the school plan staffing, academic programs, and classroom capacity for the upcoming academic year.
Annual Re-Registration #
Each year, parents must confirm their child’s continued enrollment by completing the re-registration process and paying the required registration fee.
Re-registration includes:
- Confirmation of continued enrollment
- Updating student and family information
- Reviewing school policies and agreements
- Payment of the annual registration fee
Completion of this process reserves a seat for the next academic year.
Registration Fee #
A non-refundable annual registration fee is required to secure a student’s seat for the following academic year.
This fee:
- Confirms the family’s commitment to return
- Supports administrative and enrollment planning
- Guarantees placement for the upcoming academic year
Failure to pay the registration fee by the announced deadline may result in the student’s place being released to other applicants.
Priority Placement for Current Students #
Current AISE students are given priority enrollment for the following academic year.
However, priority placement is guaranteed only when the re-registration process is completed before the deadline.
After the deadline:
- Unconfirmed seats may be offered to new applicants
- Waiting list students may be admitted
- Class capacity limits will apply
Financial Standing #
Re-registration will be approved only if the student’s account is in good financial standing.
Families must ensure:
- All tuition and school fees are paid
- Any outstanding balances are settled before re-registration
The school reserves the right to withhold re-registration approval if financial obligations are not met.
Academic and Behavioral Expectations #
Continued enrollment at AISE requires students to maintain appropriate academic progress and conduct.
The school reserves the right to deny re-registration if:
- A student demonstrates serious behavioral concerns
- Conduct repeatedly disrupts the learning environment
- School policies are violated
- The school determines that the student’s educational needs cannot be adequately supported
Each situation will be reviewed by the school administration.
Withdrawal Notification #
Families who do not intend for their child to return for the next academic year must notify the school in writing before the re-registration deadline.
Failure to provide written notification may result in the student being considered enrolled for the following academic year.
Communication #
The school will communicate important re-registration information to parents, including:
- Registration deadlines
- Payment instructions
- Enrollment confirmation
Parents are responsible for reviewing and responding to all communications related to enrollment.
Policy Updates #
This policy will be reviewed periodically by the school administration and may be updated when necessary to reflect changes in school procedures or enrollment practices.
