AISE
Go Home Alone: Terms and Conditions
Important: The Go Home Alone ID card is a conditional privilege, not a right. It is granted based on the student’s maturity, safety and responsible conduct. AISE may suspend or permanently revoke it if the student violates this agreement or school policies.
About these terms
These terms explain the conditions under which an AISE student in Grades 6–12 may leave the school compound at the end of the school day without a parent, guardian or school employee. They apply when a parent/guardian and the student sign the Go Home Alone Authorization & Parent–Student Agreement for 2026/2027. By signing, the parent/guardian and the student confirm they have read, understood and agreed to all conditions below.
1. Parent/guardian authorization
- The parent/guardian voluntarily requests and authorizes the child to leave the AISE compound independently at the end of the school day.
- The parent/guardian confirms they have considered the child’s age, maturity, judgment and ability to travel safely and independently.
- The parent/guardian accepts responsibility for the child’s journey after leaving the compound. AISE cannot supervise a student once released for independent travel.
- The authorization is conditional and may be withdrawn or revoked if the student does not meet these expectations.
2. Go Home Alone conditions
A. Directly home
The student must leave school promptly and go directly to the approved home destination using the transportation arrangement authorized by the parent/guardian. The student may not:
- Loiter, wait or gather outside the school compound.
- Stay with friends after dismissal.
- Visit shops, cafés, recreational areas or other places without parental authorization.
B. Transportation and money
The student must use the transportation method approved by the parent/guardian and carry only enough money for transportation and essential travel needs. Excessive cash and unnecessary valuables should not be carried.
C. Parent/guardian monitoring
The parent/guardian is responsible for knowing the student’s transportation arrangement and expected arrival time, and should contact the school if the student does not arrive home within the expected time.
D. School rules and conduct
The privilege does not exempt the student from any AISE rule, policy, code of conduct or behavioral expectation. Students must not engage in unsafe, illegal, inappropriate or prohibited activities while traveling home, and must not possess, use or carry prohibited substances, weapons or other dangerous items.
E. Dress, grooming and morning arrival
Students must arrive in full compliance with AISE uniform, dress code, hairstyle and grooming requirements. A student who arrives in violation may be denied the privilege for that day and may be required to return home to correct the violation, in line with school procedures. Repeated violations may result in permanent revocation.
F. Mobile phones and electronic devices
Students must follow AISE’s current mobile phone and electronic device policy. Students cannot bring mobile phones to school. The Go Home Alone privilege does not change this policy.
3. The Go Home Alone ID card
The card:
- Is issued only to the approved student.
- Must be carried when leaving school.
- Must not be shared, borrowed, transferred, copied, altered or misused.
- Must be kept safe and shown when requested by authorized school personnel.
Lost or misused cards must be reported to the school immediately.
4. Violations and revocation
AISE may immediately confiscate and revoke the ID card if the student:
- Fails to go directly home.
- Loiters or gathers outside the school.
- Visits unauthorized places.
- Misuses, lends or transfers the ID card.
- Violates AISE rules or this agreement.
- Engages in unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
- Repeatedly violates dress, grooming or school requirements.
- Shows they are not ready to travel independently.
Depending on how serious the violation is, the privilege may be revoked temporarily or permanently. A permanently revoked card will not normally be reissued during the authorization period. Serious misconduct may also lead to further disciplinary action under AISE policies.
5. Student commitments
I understand that going home alone is a privilege based on trust, maturity and responsibility. I agree to:
- Leave school promptly after dismissal and go directly home.
- Follow my parent’s approved transportation arrangement.
- Carry only the money necessary for transportation and essential travel.
- Never gather or remain outside the school after dismissal.
- Follow all AISE rules and policies.
- Maintain the required dress, grooming and hairstyle standards.
- Protect my ID card and never lend it to anyone.
- Make safe and responsible decisions.
- Tell my parent/guardian immediately if I have a problem while traveling home.
Misuse of this privilege may result in confiscation and permanent revocation of my ID card.
